“As a recent graduate, I can really say that the education I received at Technical Career Institute was absolutely what I needed to become a great Medical Assistant.” --- Celida Carbornero
Medical Assistant (Occupational Associate Degree)
The Medical Assistant program teaches the graduate to communicate with patients and how to be a liaison between the physician and the patient. Graduates will be knowledgeable in how to prepare patients for physical examinations, handle minor office procedures, keep medical records, prepare correspondence and manage the physician appointment schedule. Medical Assistants may be called upon to perform other tasks under the direct supervision of a physician. Initial employment is entry-level. The Medical Assistant program requires four semesters in length plus an internship for the student to earn the Occupational Associate Degree.
